Predictions on the study of cosmic magnetism with the SKA

With the advent of the Square Kilometre Array we expect to revolutionize our knowledge about cosmic magnetism. Indeed, this next generation radio telescope will allow us to detect the signal of an enormous number of radio sources whose properties in polarized intensity are modified by the intervening magnetic fields. To forecast the results achievable with the SKA, state-of-the art numerical simulations are ideal tools. In this talk, I will show full-Stokes realistic simulated images of the radio sky similar to those that we will obtain with the SKA. These mock data are used to investigate the impact of this instrument and also the power of advanced techniques to study large scale magnetic fields.
