Evolution of primordial magnetic fields during large-scale structure formation

Understanding the origin of cosmic magnetism is one of the most challenging questions in modern astrophysics. From the perspective of elementary particle physics, it is natural to expect that a primordial magnetic field may have arisen in the extreme environment of the early universe either during Inflation or phase transitions. In this work, we investigate the magneto-hydrodynamic evolution of these different magnetogenesis scenarios with cosmological simulations. During this talk, we will discuss the topology of different realizations of magnetized cosmic web and its relation to the magnetic initial conditions. Finally, we will briefly discuss how the differences between rotation measures from highly ionized regions can potentially be probed with forthcoming surveys.
