Numerical methods for Modified Gravity

Alessandro Casalino (Unibo)

Tuesday 10/05/2022 @ 14:00, Sala IV piano Battiferro (in presenza)

In the past decades, Modified Gravity models are receiving a lot of attention due to their ability to explain dark matter and dark energy effects. However, the complexity of these models requires huge efforts to constrain them with data. Moreover, the numerical implementations are usually model-dependent. In this introductory talk, I present part of my PhD thesis: after briefly introducing Modified Gravity, with a simple example of how to constraint a model with data, I will argue that some model-independent approaches to Modified Gravity are available, and finally provide some examples.
