1.58 Million seconds of XMM-newton time to the SUBWAYS project

Posted on 10/12/201807/01/2019 by Marcella Brusa

ESA’s XMM-Newton telescope will observe for about 18 days a sample of 20 quasars to shed light on the launching mechanisms of ultrafast outflows observed at accretion disc scales around the central supermassive black hole. The project is led by Dr. Marcella Brusa, and this is the first time a project of such size is awarded to an Italian woman.
