eROSITA is the primary instrument on-board the Russian-German "Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma" (SRG) mission which was successfully launched from Baikonur on July 13, 2019 and placed in an halo orbit around the L2 point. eROSITA will perform the first imaging all-sky survey in the medium energy X-ray range (0.5-5 keV) with an unprecedented spectral and angular resolution. At the end of the survey, eROSITA will deliver ~3 Million AGN and 100.000 galaxy clusters, plus a huge variety of X-ray celestial emitters. After an extended commissioning phase now all seven X-ray telescope modules which constitute eROSITA with their custom-designed CCD cameras have been observing the sky simultaneously. I will present the eROSITA science program and unveil the eROSITA first light images (and spectra!), which show remarkable details and demonstrate the promise of the ambitious science programme planned with the space-borne telescope.
