I report on the physical properties of a tiny young stellar system recently discovered at the head of the Leading Arm of the Magellanic Stream, Price-Whelan 1. The most likely interpretation is that the crossing of the Galactic disc by the Stream lead to gas compression and star formation, thus throwing these young stars in a nearly polar orbit into the Galactic halo. Why star formation was triggered in this specific cloud and not elsewhere in the Leading Arm? Did the onset of star formation occurred at the crossing of the Galactic plane or before? This unique stellar system may give us an opportunity to study in detail the relationship between gas collision and star formation.
