The nature of Dark Matter (DM) in the universe remains still elusive. Observations of the high-z universe can provide new ways to test DM scenarios such as Ultra-Light Axions or Warm Dark Matter which are alternative to the standard Cold Dark Matter paradigm. These models are characterized by a small-scale cut-off in the linear power spectrum resulting in a suppression of the abundance of small mass halos. This has significant implications for the properties of the visible structures at high redshifts. In this talk I will review the constraints on DM models from recent measurements of the high-z galaxy function and test of cosmic reionization.
