Joint Astrophysical Colloquium

Dark matter and dark energy with gravitational lensing

Eric Jullo (LAM - Marseille)

Thursday 18/03/2021 @ 11:30, Remote Talk

In this talk, I will discuss the problem of properly modelling small-scales (< 1Mpc/h) in order to avoid systematic errors in the characterisation of dark energy. I will focus on recent activities related to gravitational lensing, from weak-lensing in existing wide field imaging surveys, to strong-lensing in images of the Hubble Frontier Field program. I will show how both regimes can help us understand better the physical mechanisms that drive the evolution of galaxies in clusters.
